Wayne, Mich. – EQ – The Environmental Quality Company announced today that Mario Romero will join the company as Vice President of Operations. He will lead EQ’s network of treatment, storage and disposal facility operations including Wayne Disposal and Michigan Disposal in Belleville, Mich., EQ Resource Recovery in Romulus, Mich. and EQ Detroit. Romero will report to President & CEO David Lusk. He is joining EQ from WOW Energies Inc., where he was co-founder, President & CEO.

Mr. Romero has over twenty-five years of experience in the environmental, energy and industrial services industries, primarily in alternative fuels, renewable energy, recycling, reuse and resource recovery. He previously held executive positions at Energis LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Holcim US, Safety-Kleen Corp., Philip Services Corp. and The GNI Group.
Mr. Romero holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a MS and BS in Chemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is a Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois, an Adjunct Professor at Cleary University and a Member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He is proficient in five languages, including Spanish, German, French and Portuguese and has served as Director on several private company boards. Mr. Romero is a member of Rotary International and has been an officer with clubs in Sugar Land, TX and Ann Arbor, MI.
