In January of 2011, EQ implemented a thorough internal audit program called the Transportation Compliance Audit (TCA). In order to provide total compliance and ensure customer satisfaction, EQ has trained over 40 internal auditors to conduct field audits on all EQ drivers and their vehicles for DOT, OSHA and EPA deficiencies.
The EQ internal auditors are required to undergo training that is conducted by Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety (QEHS) personnel at each facility. The program requires that each of our drivers be audited at least twice a year across all divisions.
Audit findings requiring immediate correction are addressed with the driver and corrected before the driver returns to service. The audit findings are then given a score based on a similar system used by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMSCA). When necessary, findings are addressed through EQ’s Management System to determine root cause and corrective action.
This program is one of many that EQ implements to comply with all applicable regulations under our Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety management systems.
