EQ Recycles NMP Solvent Produced from Hybrid Battery Manufacturing

The EQ Resource Recovery (EQRR) division  offers a recycling program to manage spent N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone, a solvent used in the lithium-ion battery manufacturing process. EQRR markets and redistributes recycled NMP once the solvent is reclaimed. EQ has over 20 years of experience in the distillation and recycling of solvents such as NMP.

NMP is used to dissolve and transport Nickel, Magnesium and Cobalt (NMC) powder. Once the NMC powder has been released onto the electrode plates, the material is cooled, condensed and collected as a waste by-product. Manufacturers will use 10,000 to 20,000 gallons per month.

EQ receives the by-product NMP in bulk from the manufacturers and distills it into an industrial grade NMP that is sold into the paint stripper markets. Segregation of NMP from other generators assures that no reclaimed material is used to benefit other competitors.

EQ has the ability to provide tank telemetry monitoring and track volumes to automate pick-up. EQ’s fleet of professionally trained drivers can be dispatched 24 hours per day to meet customer requirements.

EQ’s distillation process the highest quality end product, allowing us to guarantee a specific spec to the clients we supply. This helps to maintain long-term relationships in the product re-sale marketplace.

Key Benefits of NMP Include:

• EQ buys spent NMP
• Tolling services
