EQ recently announced that the company has formed a new operating division called the “Technical Services Department.” This department will be responsible for, on a corporate wide basis, directing the waste approvals, materials management and laboratory technical services groups. EQ remains committed to providing the highest quality customer service. This new department continues that commitment. The Technical Services Department will be led by Tom McGillis, formerly general manager of EQ Michigan Disposal, Inc. He will continue to report to Mario Romero, vice president of operations.
The mission of the three groups within the Technical Services Department is as follows:
Waste Approvals: Integrate and manage the waste approvals processes into all EQ facilities. Also, streamline approvals processes to increase responsiveness, productivity and customer service.
Materials Management: Develop and maintain partnerships with quality vendors who conform to the EQ Environmental, Health and Safety requirements. In addition, this group will help in the auditing of EQ and outside vendor facilities to ensure EQ Management System objectives and qualifications are met.
Laboratory Technical Services: Drive standardization throughout the corporate laboratories, optimize lab productivity, ensure QA/QC, and support and enhance the EQ’s Customer Experience Measurement objectives. Ensure that all EQ laboratories operate in compliance with individual permit QA/QC plans, EQ Management Systems, Chemical Hygiene Plans and individual and corporate lab SOP’s.
