EQ Honored by CSX for Commitment to Chemical Safety

Dedication to the safe transport of hazardous chemicals praised

EQ has received a 2010 CSX Chemical Safety Excellence Award (CSEA), which highlights the company’s commitment to chemical safety. The award was presented at a ceremony in Charlotte, NC on April 14, 2011.

“We are honored to be recognized by CSX for the safe transportation of chemicals,” said David Lusk, President and CEO. “Safety is an integral part of our company and we are dedicated to transporting our products securely and safely to protect communities and the environment.”

CSX, a leading transportation company providing rail, intermodal and rail-to-truck transload services, honored EQ’s commitment to chemical and shipping safety over the most environmentally friendly means of land transportation.

“CSX is pleased to recognize EQ’s commitment to safely transporting its goods,” said Clarence W. Gooden, executive vice president, sales and marketing and chief commercial officer, CSX. “Safety is a way of life at CSX, and we are proud to partner with customers like EQ to ensure that every ton of freight is shipped as safely and as efficiently as possible.”

CSEA specifically recognizes those companies that shipped more than 600 or more railcars during 2010 on CSX, with no non-accidental hazardous material releases through the entire year. Winners come from many different industries, including the chemicals, fertilizer, agriculture and metals merchandise commodity markets as well as from emerging markets.
